The cost for an infrared
thermal home inspection (energy audit) is varied based on the consumers needs.
The average home envelope inspection price includes the on-site
inspection, storage of thermal and digital images, and includes necessary
office time to generate electronic or hard copy reports. Thermal
energy audits have a great return of investment
ratio. An infrared home inspection can help you locate areas
of missing or improperly installed insulation, air infiltration,
moisture and ventilation problems. If the appropriate corrective measures
are implemented one could save hundreds even thousands
per year in energy costs.

Hot Shotz conducts a
20 point
inspection in conjunction with thermal and digital images. We
locate possible energy, health and safety related problems through
out the interior and exterior of your home or place of business.
After finding the problems we work with our clients to determine the best
and most cost effective course of
action. A
detailed report (PDF) will be compiled and mailed
usually with in two working days. The report features;
side
by side thermal and
digital images pinpointing areas of concern including
commentary as to location and possible mitigation.
A standard detailed inspection
will often include these and more: Temperature check of
refrigerator, freezer, hot water and breaker panel.
Determine hot and cold zones throughout the house. Moisture
issues that can lead to damage to the home and residents health.
The heating and cooling systems, determine the thermal envelope,
co and smoke alarms, insulation,
air infiltration, ventilation,
mold-mildew, orientation of building and landscaping that can
positively and negatively effect the thermal and health efficiency
of the home. Roof, siding, windows, doors, lighting,
foundation, drainage, thermostat controls, warm room concept,
chimney and other home exhaust systems. Search for over
heating of electrical appliances and wiring. A thermal
inspection of the home. A common sense logical approach
to help you find and fix current and potential problem areas in
and around your home.

Residential
inspection prices per sq. ft. of floor living area: Example,
if your home is a single story with basement 30 x 60 = 1800 you would
expect
to pay $300.00 (price
includes basement and main floor or two stories). Each additional
level
is an additional $50.00 per story.

No different from a regular energy audit except there is no PDF or
Hard File Report. During a Budget Scan inspection, clients
have the option of upgrading to the standard energy audit within
the first half hour. (residential only, other discounts can not be
applied.)
Commercial Businesses: $35.00 per hr.
$140.00 minimum charges also apply to all
office time required to generate reports. In most cases
office time equals the time on site depending on the size of the
report.
Upon request; quality control inspections, during weatherization
efforts, will be charged at the hourly rate of $35.00 (two hour
minimum charge) In most
cases only a few hours towards the end of a project are
necessary.
A follow up
inspection
is offered for all home inspections after corrective measures have
been taken, The cost is $35. per hour, two hour minimum,
(for houses inspected
after 12-1-07)
A residential
inspection includes in-floor heating and electric panel.
If these are inspected exclusively the cost is $75.00 each.
